Roseville to Reno is only 105 miles, but it’s the most demanding short haul we run. The whole trip is I-80 climbing east through the foothills past Auburn, up and over Donner Summit at about 7,000 feet, then down into the Truckee Meadows. In summer it’s a steady grade and a hot engine. In winter it’s a different job entirely.
Donner Summit and winter chain controls
From late fall into spring, Caltrans posts chain controls over the pass, and conditions can flip from clear to whiteout in an hour. We watch the road reports the morning of the move, carry chains, and won’t push a loaded truck over the summit when it isn’t safe. If the pass closes, we reschedule the delivery day rather than risk your furniture on an icy grade. That call stays with our own crew, not a subcontractor watching a clock.
The same movers load you in Roseville and unload you in Reno. Our truck, our drivers, full CAL-T and US DOT/MC authority across the state line. One binding written flat rate, set before we leave, and a delivery day we commit to. Get your Reno quote and we’ll plan around the forecast.
