About Foreign Movers

I’m Nick Marchenko, and I started Foreign Movers in Roseville back in 2011. My family came over from Ukraine when I was a teenager and landed in the Sacramento area with everything we owned packed into a few suitcases and a borrowed van. I still remember what it felt like to show up somewhere new with your whole life in boxes and no idea where anything goes. That stuck with me.

I worked moving labor through trade school, learned the trade off the back of a truck, and figured I could run it straighter than the outfits I’d worked for. So I bought one truck, hired a buddy, and we started carrying couches up the stairwells around West Roseville and Sun City. Word got around. People liked that we showed up on time, wrapped the furniture, and quoted a number that didn’t grow on move day.

Today we run seven trucks out of a yard near the Union Pacific rail yard, with about twelve full-time uniformed movers and a small office. We own every truck. We don’t subcontract and we don’t hand your move to anybody whose face you haven’t seen. If something gets dinged, it’s on us, and we carry up to a million in cargo coverage per shipment to back that up.

Roseville’s an easy place to love. The Galleria pulls in half the county, Maidu Regional Park is packed every weekend, and Old Town along Vernon Street still feels like the railroad town it grew up as. We’ve carried furniture in and out of nearly every neighborhood off Douglas Blvd and Foothills, hauled families up the foothill grades toward Auburn, and learned the hard way to load the heavy stuff before the valley heat hits triple digits in July.
